The Livingston Water Department is responsible for supplying Livingston residents with clean drinking water. This includes ensuring an adequate water supply and assuring us that our water is clean and meets regulatory standards
In recent years, water supplies across the world have been confronted with a new challenge. PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are used in many consumer, commercial and industrial products. These chemicals are associated with serious health effects and, because they are very slow to break down in the environment, they are showing up in our aquifers and reservoirs. This creates a huge challenge for those who keep our drinking water safe.
