PRESIDENTS’ MESSAGE
Please be sure to come to our annual meeting on June 26th at the Community Center. . We will be voting on officers, the budget for next year and on the newly revised by-laws. It will be a dinner meeting. We will follow up with an email with the details. If you are interested running for a board position, please let us know. They are President, Secretery, Treasurer, Voter Service Chair and Membership Chair. We will also have sign ups for committee members and will disseminate information about these before the meeting.
This Sunday, June 9th is the annual Livingston Summerfest Food Truck and Music Festival at the Oval. We really need volunteers to staff our voter registration and information table there. No experience is necessary. Although the festival runs between 11 AM and 6 PM, we probably won’t be there the entire time (depending on the number of volunteers). Please email us if you can donate at least an hour of your time and let us know when you can come.
We will also have a table at the National Gun Violence Awareness Day in Summit, NJ on June 7th 5:00 PM -6:30 PM. We need additional volunteers for that also.

From LWVUS
The League launched our "One Person One Vote" campaign to activate voters around abolishing the Electoral College and building a truly representative electoral system. The Electoral College is a racist relic designed to take power away from the people. Just as we did during the women's suffrage movement, we're fighting for a democracy that is truly by and for the people.
Turn Up for One Person, One Vote, June 27, 2024, 7:00 PM-8:30 PMET: Hear from leading experts sharing their views on why the Electoral College has existed for so long and how we will dismantle this system and build a democracy powered by the people, for the people, ALL the people. The panel will be livestreamed on LWVUS's Facebook Page.
